I love the simplicity of this sequence. No long conversations wondering should they/shouldn’t they or reducing it down to a sentence or allegory that teaches a life lesson. For Kirk, it’s simple: his best friend is in trouble and needs help, even in death. For the others, their loyalty to both Kirk AND Spock offer no other alternatives than to help.
